Storage Instructions
The Oliva Limited Edition 2023 Figuriño (10) should be stored in a stable, well maintained humidor for the best results. Aim for a relative humidity between 68% and 70% and a temperature around 68-70ºF (20-21ºC). A cedar lined humidor helps regulate humidity and promotes a pleasant aroma. Because the Figuriño is a compact figurado with a tapered head, it benefits from consistent humidity to avoid soft spots or wrapper splits. Monitor conditions with a reliable hygrometer and adjust with distilled water or two-way humidity packs as needed. Avoid placing the humidor in direct sunlight or near heat sources. If you do not have a humidor, use an airtight container with calibrated humidity packs for short term storage while you set up proper long term conditions.
Care Tips
Handle the Oliva Limited Edition 2023 Figuriño (10) gently to protect the delicate wrapper. Hold it by the body rather than the foot or head to preserve oils and prevent blemishes. Because of the figurado shape, use a precise cut or a punch that suits smaller tapered heads to ensure an even draw. Allow newly purchased cigars to acclimate in your humidor for one to two weeks after transport before smoking, unless they were sold from a properly maintained humidor and are already rested. Limited edition releases often reward short to medium term aging, so consider cellaring them for six months to eighteen months to let flavors integrate, and longer if you prefer a more mellow profile. Keep flavored cigars separate and avoid rapid temperature or humidity swings. If you need to travel with these cigars, use a travel humidor or sealed tube with a small humidity pack to maintain stable conditions until you return them to your main humidor.
Reviews and Ratings
At the time of this release there are few if any full reviews from major publications specifically for the Oliva Limited Edition 2023 Figuriño. That said experienced retailers and early customers note that it follows the strong tradition of Oliva limited runs, offering focused flavor and reliable construction. Past Oliva limited editions and Serie V family members have received praise from magazines such as Cigar Aficionado and Halfwheel for rich Nicaraguan character and solid build, and anecdotal feedback for this Figuriño points to medium to full body flavors of cocoa, espresso, and a touch of black pepper with a clean draw. If you value expert scoring the broader Oliva limited and Serie V releases tend to land in the upper range, while aficionados who enjoy short figurados appreciate the Figuriño for delivering concentrated flavor in a compact format.
History and Heritage
Oliva is a family name synonymous with Nicaraguan tobacco craftsmanship, and the brand has built a reputation for consistent quality and bold flavor. The Limited Edition 2023 Figuriño fits into that heritage as a small figurado crafted to showcase the brand’s aged tobaccos and careful blending. Produced in Nicaragua where Oliva has deep ties to the tobacco growing and rolling traditions, this release emphasizes attention to wrapper selection and construction. Collectors and regular smokers alike are likely to appreciate the Figuriño as a concise expression of Oliva’s longstanding commitment to rich, well made cigars.
Tasting Notes
The Oliva Limited Edition 2023 Figuriño (10) presents a medium-to-full-bodied profile that marries classic Nicaraguan robustness with refined balance. Initial draws reveal dark cocoa and espresso crema, followed by toasted cedar, warm baking spice and a fine leather underpinning. A creamy mid-palate finishes with toasted almond and a whisper of black pepper on the retrohale, while subtle molasses sweetness and woodsy aromas linger through the smoke. The bouquet is rich and inviting—notes of warm tobacco, brown sugar and cedar invite slow, contemplative draws.
Pairing Suggestions
Single-origin espresso, The bright, concentrated crema and bitter-sweet coffee notes mirror the Figuriño’s dark cocoa and espresso tones, cutting through the smoke for a balanced, focused pairing. Aged dark rum (añejo), Caramel, molasses and dried-fruit notes in an aged rum complement the cigar’s sweet undertones and accentuate its toasted spice without overpowering the subtleties. 70% dark chocolate or a small piece of aged Manchego, The bitter-sweet chocolate sharpens the cigar’s cocoa and nutty facets, while a savory aged cheese offers a satisfying contrast to the Figuriño’s creamy mid-palate.
